School

The Thursday before Thanksgiving break,  I went to pick the kids up from school.  The principal and another teacher were walking Brek to the car, but I didn't see Tyce anywhere.  I started to panic that something had happened to Tyce.  He showed up right as they were opening the car door.  Brek was the one I should have been worried about!  The principal told me that as they were walking out Brek's foot got caught on the door and got cut.  There was a big bandaid on it, but I could see that it was bleeding EVERYWHERE!!
I rushed home, cleaned it up and sent this pic to Brock asking if it needed stitches.  He said I should probably take her in.  So I dropped the older boys off with Brock and rushed to take Brek to the urgent care.  Halfway there, Brock called and said that the athletic trainer at the school could fix it.  So we turned around.  She was able to clean it up and put steri strips on it to close it up.  What a relief.
That night the principal from Brek's school called to check and make sure that Brek was okay.  I was so impressed.  This school has been such a huge blessing in our lives.  Also, what a huge blessing that the athletic trainer was able to fix it up!

I was able to go to the school the next day to have lunch with the kids.  It was so fun, and I loved seeing the kids light up when they walked into the cafeteria and saw us!

Bruce was a hit with Tyce's classmates! :)

And one without food in Brek's mouth!

Throughout November

We love when Daddy is home!!!  It is always so nice after football season when we get Daddy back.  The first thing he did was take these kids crawdad fishing!...

The crawdad haul

Brock didn't have school on Veteran's Day (although the kids did!), so he took Luke fishing to Lake Bastrop.
Luke had a blast!

Their "big" catch of the day!

He's a pretty cool kid.

What else do we do when Daddy's home?  Wrestle!!!  Of any form I might add...

I can't remember exactly what he was giving us the lip and puppy dog eyes for, but doesn't he do it so well?!  Ha!!!  He held this pose for quite a while!

And of course Luke just had to boil up one of his crawdads!  And Bruce...well, Bruce. :)

More crawdads...

We had a fire pit one night to make hot dogs and smores.  It was so much fun!  We love when Daddy's home!  Have I mentioned that yet? :)
Brek's eyes are closed.  Let's take another...

Brek's eyes are closed AGAIN.  Let's take another...

Brek's eyes are closed YET AGAIN!!!  Oh wait, so are Tyce's!!! :)  Let's take another...

 Finally!  Aren't my loves cute??

Reading a book out loud for Brock and myself.  Bruce decided to join in.

I have been pretty frustrated with my trash can lately so Luke decided to make one for me!  He's awesome.

A beautiful flower blooming in November!  And a super cute boy beside it!

Brek is supposed to study her spelling words every night and one of her options for studying was to write them in flour.  So much fun!  Not so much fun to clean up...

Last Football Game

Our last football game was November 4th against Cedar Park.  We lost 55-0.  They were amazing.  Here are a few pictures from the final game of the season...

Brek insisted on bringing this old umbrella that was already somewhat broken!  By the end of the game, it was in pretty bad shape! :)  Thank goodness she brought it though, because it was raining pretty good for a while.

The weather was cool and rainy for those of you wondering... :)

This is Coach Bassett with Brock and the kids.  He has been such a mentor for Brock these past couple of years.  We love him!

Goofy kids!

Oh, Bruce!

Luke's 5th Birthday

Luke turned 5 on November 1st!  I love this kid so much!  I told him that I was sad about him being old enough to go to school next year and that he needed to just stay home with me, and he was okay with that. :)  He is so smart and is always making things out of tape and cardboard!  He loves anything outdoors so I bought him some worms to go fishing for his birthday.  Here we are fishing at the park...

Birthday buddies

He caught 2 fish that day!

He is so good at fishing that he does everything himself now including taking off the fish!

We waited until Saturday for Luke's birthday party so that Daddy could be completely done with football!  Hurrah!
Luke told Brock how to decorate the cake.  It's a monster!

We sang Happy Birthday to Luke, and Tyce blew out the candles!  Crazy kid.  He said, "But Daddy said I could help Luke blow them out."  So we lit them again and as we were about to sing again Luke just blew them right out!  Haha.  It was pretty hilarious.  I guess he figured we had already sang.  We don't need to do it again.

Lots of fishing stuff from Grandma and Grandpa!  He loved it!  Brock was commenting that now Luke had more fishing stuff than he did.  Later, Luke gave him one of his fishing lures.  So sweet.

Luke constantly amazes me with his creativity.  He is so independent and capable.  We love him so much and are so glad he is in our family!

More football pics

Brek was able to attend cheer camp again this year and had a blast!  Last year they cheered with the cheerleaders the entire game.  I guess they learned their lesson because this year they only got to cheer for one quarter.  Bummer.  Still fun though!
