Brek's Strep Throat

A few weeks ago, Brek came home from school saying that her throat was really hurting.  The next morning it was so bad that she could hardly swallow.  I kept her home hoping that it would get better that day.  It didn't.  So the next day (Saturday), I took her in to the urgent care where it was confirmed that she had strep throat.  She was started on amoxicillin.  Her throat was immediately much better.  However, one week later (the next Saturday) I noticed a slight rash appearing on her chest and neck.  We took her back in to the urgent care where they said that she had an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin.  Now she needed to be on steroids.  She HATED them!  I could hardly get her to take them.  I was so glad that we took her in to the doctor because on Sunday her rash was HORRIBLE.  I felt so bad for her.  She stayed home from school on Monday and Tuesday because her rash was still really bad.  About a week later she came back home saying that her throat was hurting again.  Great.  She stayed home from school that day where we took her into the doctor again.  This time thankfully though it was just allergies!
